Who's that cute little blonde girl walking across the campus with an armload of books? She looks like a serious student -- far too serious for a goofball like me!
Maybe that's why I was afraid to ask her out. Until a friend told me she might -- she juST MIGHT -- say yes!
I asked.
She affirmed.
We went.
Whirlwind-like!
Until...

Congratulations Sam and Cathy! :)
Wohoo!!! Congrats to you both... She is a patient woman, you are a blessed man...!!!
Congrats! I'm glad you asked her, because otherwise there wouldn't have been a "me" to comment on your blog.
I love it Uncle Sam!
Three R's and a B -- thanks to you all! I am overwhelmed by your kindness (and so is Cathy)! Becki, what you said is so...so profound! :o)
I too remember that summer, 37 years ago.Cathy was a summer missionary in Oregon. She picked out a pattern and fabric for a wedding dress and asked if I would plan the wedding and make the dress. I made the dress, going away dress, dress for her shower, peignoir set and other lingerie and planned the wedding. The clothes fit perfect and I felt blessed she trusted me to plan the most important day of her life. We were pleased with her choice of a husband and still are. We love you, Joyce and Bob
You earned that trust, Joyce. You made one of the most beautiful wedding dresses ever and it fit her perfectly. I am forever grateful for the wedding, but more grateful for the daughter you raised!
Happy Anniversary, "Kids"! (We are allowed to call you that because we've been married 7 more years than you!) May you have many more happy healthy years together. :)
