It had been thirty years since they last met. But the eyes. The shy grin. Hit life's "rewind" and notice two young boys playing in a thicket of willow bushes. Carving guns and swords out of old boards that were lying around. Eagerly shooting arrows in the air to see if they would disappear. Eating some type of dog biscuit as a snack because they were "hiding out."
Two young boys growing up in the country, playing, working, laughing and sometimes crying together. Shooting hoops in a yard, building treehouses, making a little money with a hay-hauling business.
When they were grown, one of them was Best Man for the other one. Then, somehow, they lost track.

By God's grace, it won't be the last one.

WOW! Is that really YOU, Sam?? True friends are a gift of God and we really do need to keep them in good standing. They are a rare and precious gift. It's so great you got to rekindle this friendship. Thanks for the great pictures. God bless you both.
Yes true friends are very rare, but we are blessed to have and keep one. I hope you enjoyed your time together.
That's so, so great you guys could finally connect in person.
And someone's gotta say it--that is a really cheesy wedding photo. :)
I love experiences like this!!
Thank you, Chewie, Laurie, Beth and Liz for all taking notice. I appreciate you!
Sam -- this brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful that you have re-connected. I'm so happy for you. (And don't pay any attention to "the kid" -- I don't think the picture is "cheesy" at ALL -- mainly because I remember so well when guys dressed and wore their hair like that!) :)
